GRINSTOCK COMEDY CLUB comes to Peacehaven for a full season, after our hugely successful trial night on the coast, we are back for a full season of our Award winning comedy, nominated two years running for comedy club of the South by Dave TV & Absolute Radio and with 9 years of sold out shows behind us, we are pretty sure we have you covered when it comes to comedy. 

All happening at the amazing Gateway Cafe in Peacehaven, located right next to the Big Park on Piddinghoe Avenue.

He’s made appearances at Dave's Leicester Comedy Festival, SXSW and the Zulu Comedy Festival. Betts’ mind is a curious place, where the philosophical meets the ridiculous. His shows are a perfect balance of incisive social satire and complete silliness. We’ve been using Chris as one of our MC’s for over 3 years, we love him and we are sure you will also.

Headliner Tony Cowards

The best joke writer around - GQ Magazine

Tony is a highly regarded comedy writer and comedian. Described as 'The best joke writer around' by GQ magazine, he is a regular contributor to a number of programmes and publications. Tony is a rapidfire gag merchant with an arsenal full of one-liners, for laughs-per-minute he's a tough act to beat!

His quick wit has made him a sought after act and compere by comedy clubs and promoters across the UK and even for gigs worldwide. In July 2014, he won third place in the prestigious 'English Comedian of the Year' competition.

Writing & TV

As well as performing, Tony is also a prolific writer; his credits include material for the Comedy Unit at BBC Radio Scotland, Radio 4's "The News Quiz & "The Now Show", BBC Radio 2's "Ian D Montfort is: Unbelievable", "Newsjack" for BBC7 and he is also the principal gag writer for Bristol based Jack FM (for which he won a silver Sony Award in 2013), as well as regularly contributing to "Viz" and featuring in "The Times" newspaper.

Edinburgh Shows

Tony has taken his hour-long shows, “Festival of Football 1 & 2 and ‘Everyman’” to the Edinburgh Fringe, which were well received by critics and audiences alike. He has since performed them at many different festivals and football clubs and continues to tour with them across the country.
