On the 8th April, Y!KES play their first Birmingham show of '22 at the intimate 'Sunflower Lounge' on Smallbrook Queensway. Support from drum and bass DJ Tommy Conflict & glam rock queen Ace Ambrose.

Y!KES are an alternative, grunge fuelled anti-pop band from Birmingham, U.K. Known for their bombastic drums, massive guitar riffs and vocalist Oli Long's unique vocal talents and persona, the band have worked hard to create an audio-visual experience like no other. They are storytellers, their videos being part of a broader Y!KES Cinematic Universe in which you'll find neon vampires, Terry the Intergalactic B*stard and the legendary Bear Frills, a 6ft Teddy with human teeth. Alongside making themselves a known presence online, the band have been tearing up the live circuit, making appearances at festivals such as Turbulence & Hard Rock Hell, as well as opening for acts such as Vukovi, Hands off Gretel, Counterfeit and Demob Happy.Following the release of their third EP 'Lostalgia', which was co-produced by the band and Geoff Rickly (My Chem), and their widely well received single 'GOD MODE', the band recently released their second track of '22 'IRON DEFICIENCY'. Fresh from the studio with Jim Pinder (Bring Me The Horizon/While She Sleeps) and a sell out U.K tour with Salem & As December Falls, you can expect plenty of releases and live dates throughout 2022 as the band continues their invasion.Y!KES are Liam, Oli, Rob & TJ. A super nerdy, genre defying, rock and rolling oddity. Wildcard and walking identity crisis, currently residing in a small suburban town in the middle of nowhere in particular. A modern day minstrel & bard, I like to create worlds, characters and stories to cope with, make sense of and escape reality. These songs are the soundtracks to those stories.
