NÔ BALUR - Celebrating Black Queerness

🚨 Another one, thank you! 🚨

Join us where it all started, Wharf Chambers, for the juiciest club night of the year to celebrate "Nô Balur" (meaning 'Our Value' in Bissau-Guinean creole), on Thursday 23rd June from 12 till late, in celebration of #pridemonth with a lineup curated by an all-Black femme / non-binary DJs of Angolan, Bissau-Guinean and Nigerian background, purr!

From afro-house to amapiano, kuduro to UKG, and much more, brought by South London-based Don't Call Me Tako, Leeds up-and-coming star Bridget, and Lady G's debut on the decks as we celebrate the impact Black and Brown folx had and still have within the queer and trans communities.

✨ Tickets starting from £5 for our very own Black LGBTQ+ ✨

50% of the proceeds will be donated towards the first edition of Portugal's Black Pride to be held in Lisbon - please refer to our safer spaces policy before buying a ticket as this is an event created by a Black queer person, prioritising those of Black and other ethnic minority backgrounds:

[SAFER SPACES POLICY]

A gentle reminder of our safer spaces policy written in August 2021

1) We have a ZERO tolerance policy for any kind of prejudice, harassment and intimidation in our events as well as within the community we are trying to build - this means: no sexism, racism, ableism, ageism, homophobia, transphobia, misgendering and any other sort of prejudice based on religious affiliation.

2) Our collective was created to prioritise the Black and queer communities, enabling an intersectional environment often overlooked by the wider public, therefore, please be aware of your privileges before entering our space - do not make any assumptions about people’s identity or pronouns!

3) Keep in mind that not everyone might be down to interact with everyone as people’s comfortability vary, so please do not force yourself into other individuals’ spaces as consent must come from both sides.

If you do not agree with any of the aforementioned policies DO NOT come as this clearly is not a space for you!
