Join Old Sun, New Moon for their double EP release show! 

Old Sun, New Moon is a transatlantic duo made up of Lancashire singer-songwriter Tom Welsh and ambient noisemaker Ethan Helfrich (they/them) from Indiana, US. The two met in 2022 in Manchester and quickly forged a musical partnership comprising Tom’s introspective northern songwriting and Ethan’s midwestern experimental ambient guitar mastery (showcased as solo project Black Brunswicker). The result weaves beautifully textured songs with a rich lyrical landscape, often bolstered by a rotating cast of collaborators.

All of this is evidenced on the two upcoming EPs, released together on the 31st of May, which showcase the duo's openness to experimentation and expansion around the subtly sculpted songs.

Where All This Could Lead Could Be All I Need is recorded in collaboration with producer, multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Joel Harries, and casts the songs in lush full-band arrangements, beautifully enhanced by violinist Molly Becker's sweeping string lines.

And Things Get Better When You Find Where You Belong strips the simple compositions back almost to their original premise, with the duo's song and sound craft complemented by pianist and vocalist Emily Mercer's celestial contributions and producer Kevin Foy's sympathetic and skilful treatment of the source material.

Joining Old Sun, New Moon is Anyone's Ghost and Henry Parker. 

Anyone's Ghost - The solo project of songwriter Wanda Roslyn, Anyone’s Ghost first emerged from Manchester in 2019, immediately making an impact with delicate, solemn songs that touch on themes of romance, mystery and murder.

Henry Parker - Henry Parker's contemporary take on folk, which he explores via thoughtful yet deeply accomplished guitar playing, unfurls and moves much like the landscape itself – mirroring the unpredictable, yet beautifully flowing, rolling hills and valleys of his native county of West Yorkshire.
